I'm Amaury Brito — product designer, UX strategist, U.S. Army veteran, minister, husband, and father. This is the longer version of how I got here, and why AB Design & Strategy works the way it does.
I was born in the Dominican Republic and came to the United States at thirteen — a new country, a new language, and a lot to prove. That early lesson — that you build belonging through effort and integrity — never left me.
Before design, I served in the U.S. Army from 2008 to 2017 — a year on active duty, then the Army Reserves — including a tour in Iraq in 2016. The military shaped me: discipline, accountability, and leading people under pressure — values that still run through everything I build.
From 2012 to 2020 I worked in mechanical design for the Oil & Gas industry — much of it alongside my reserve service. I learned precision there: tolerances matter, systems have to hold under pressure, and good work is measured by whether it performs in the real world — not just on paper.
In 2020 I moved into UX. The craft was different, but the discipline carried over — understand the problem deeply, design with intention, and respect the people on the other side of the screen. I've been building digital experiences with purpose ever since.
In 2012 I had a personal encounter with Jesus that changed the direction of my life. Since then I've served through every season — the ups and the downs — in whatever was needed, from cleaning the church to today leading as our Education Ministry director.
That faith is what pushed me to serve people through design — to give by grace what I was given by grace. AB Design & Strategy grew out of that conviction — a Christian, veteran-owned, bilingual studio that serves small businesses, churches, and purpose-driven founders, helping them show up online with clarity and confidence, and succeed with faith, excellence, and integrity.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Faith describes how we work — integrity, excellence, and care — never who we work for. Every background and belief is welcome here.
